Life Groups are a safe and welcoming place for students to meet with other students to talk about life and faith together.
Life Groups have been a part of our entire St. Peter’s family for a while and many of our parents are a part of one. Basically, this will be a consistent group that students will meet in to talk about life and faith together.
Life Groups are for 6-12th grade students but we will have specific groups for certain ages and genders. Each group will have adult leaders and groups will be no larger than about 12 students. (Example: there may be a group of 6-8th grade boys and a different group for 6-8th grade girls)
One of the main purposes of a Life Group is for students to have an opportunity to check-in and talk about life with one another, hence the name. We hope students will grow close and comfortable enough with each other to share about all things happening in their lives: good things, school things, struggles, family life, etc.
Students will also have an opportunity to talk about their faith with each other. Throughout the year students will engage in discussion about the Bible, church traditions, what it means to be Christian, spiritual practices and more.
Students will also participate in a large group learning moment where either the Student Ministry staff or our St. Peter’s Pastors will teach students and adult leaders within a larger group, in which afterward, they will go and have more discussion within their designated, smaller Life Groups.
No registration, just show up! We will have an RSVP form available at the beginning of the semester but it is not required to fill out in order to participate; it will just help us prepare. We strongly encourage students to attend their Life Group as often as they possibly can. The only way these groups can grow closer and get to know each other is by their presence. The more you attend the more others can get to know you and you can get to know them.
We will have snacks but there will not be a dinner or meal. The church will provide the water and snacks.
All Life Groups will meet at the church in our Wesley Student Center at the designated time on Sundays. We will have times for large group gatherings with all grades and then have times for students to be in their specific grade level Life Group.
Yes! And we hope that these friends can continue to participate so that they can get to know their group better.
