what are grow groups?

Grow Groups are Life Groups, Sunday School classes, Bible Studies, and Small Groups that generally meet once a week to build relationships with other believers who will walk alongside one another on their spiritual journey.

We believe that the study of Scripture is what will produce mature believers in Christ.  It is where we can learn about God’s character and His expectations for our own personal lives (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

God has created us to be relational.  Grow Groups, therefore, are created to be interdependent where we learn to lean on and count on each other in all aspects of our lives.  They should be places where we can be honest and vulnerable, knowing that we can rely and trust each member of our group (Ephesians 4:2-3).

We know that life plays no favorites.  All of us at some point will go through pain and heartache.  Grow Groups are a place where we can speak of pain, grief, loss, and failures. We can be confident that we have a group that will help us be restored back to the joy and peace that Jesus Christ offers (Isaiah 61:1-2).

Grow Groups should be a mission to meet the needs of the hurting in the name of Jesus, to share with non-believers what Jesus can and wants to do to bring them into a relationship with Him, and to be involved in making the Gospel known to all nations (Acts 1:8.)

Life Groups are groups of 8 to 14 people doing Christian life deeply together. They meet once a week to build relationships with other believers and dig into scripture related to that week’s sermon. Our goal is to create a place where group members can be honest and vulnerable, knowing that they can rely on and trust each other when life happens.

Bible studies typically meet once a week, and will dive into the Bible. Some studies will vary week to week on what scripture will be discussed, while others will choose to walk through one book for a determined length of time.

Adult Sunday School is a great way to grow in your faith. St. Peter’s offers a variety of classes at 9 and 10:30 AM for every age and stage in life. Our classes engage in studies on the Bible, Christian topics, family relationships, and contemporary issues. They also provide opportunities for fellowship and for service to others.

Adult Small Groups  provide a way to connect with others in your lifestage, areas of interest, and more!
