ST. PETER'S WEST CAMPUS
MASTER PLAN
FIND THE WEST CAMPUS ON THE MAP
A few years ago St. Peter’s saw how quickly West Katy was growing and felt God calling us to plant a neighborhood church. We are still a fairly new and growing community. You can expect to meet young families, grandparents, singles who just moved back home or have been in Katy for a while, and newly married couples. Our community is warm and welcoming, and we are excited to expand the vibrant ministries of St. Peter's to the West Katy/Fulshear area!
CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS
A groundbreaking ceremony was held on June 20 for our new West Campus at 4700 FM 1463, Fulshear.
The approximately 11-acre property will house a roughly 12,000 square-foot building that will include a worship space for 300 people, as well as Sunday School classrooms. Phase 1 of the building will be completed in March 2021.
THE MASTERPLAN
Our West Campus is located in the city of Fulshear, 20 minutes southwest of our Katy location, in a rapidly developing neighborhood. At St. Peter’s UMC in Katy, we have experienced successful growth while serving our community in Katy for over 30 years. For the West Campus inFulshear, our lead pastor, Dr. Pat Sparks, made a request of Ziegler Cooper Architects (http://wwwzieglercooper.com) to replicate, but update, the “Healthy DNA” of the St. Peter’s Kingsland campus.
PHASE 1
Phase 1 of St. Peter’s West Campus in Fulshear is complete, featuring a multi-purpose worship space for 488 people and nine classrooms. The structure is designed to expand its worship capacity as the church family grows. When the final church sanctuary is built to serve 1,500 people, the Phase 1 building will be converted to a full Fellowship Hall for 900, complete with stage, operable partitions, and a commercial kitchen. The building’s eventual proximity to the sanctuary and its open walls to the “Main Street” (the campus’ 40-foot-wide central organizing corridor) will make it the center of activity for all ministries. The plans are to start worshiping at the new campus in early 2021.
A BUILDING THAT GROWS
With the site selected and a predetermined intersection entrance to respect, the team was determined to create an environment that would easily orient visitors to a welcoming campus. ZCA divided the site between parking and a well-organized collection of program areas all under one roof, sequencing through the master plan the order in which the campus would adapt and fully expand to capacity. St. Peter’s master planning committee quickly adopted the theme “a building that grows.”
